Description
Chongba Sherpa provided cost estimating services to both Phase I and Phase II of the iconic Highline. A park built on top of an
existing abandoned overhead rail line. This was one of the first projects of such genre. Unique understanding of the existing
structural rehabilitation and remediation started shaping up the project. There were multiple levels of bid packaging provided by the
Construction Manager and all the estimates complied and confirmed to the complex procurement process. Materials handling due to
need for salvaging most of the structure and reuse of rails in the park, railing design with integrated lighting, precast planks design to
form unique shapes and structures on site and all landscaping furniture were feature elements of the project. Creating Planting beds
and visionary overlook areas were one of a kind pricing exercise. The Highline Park runs 20 blocks first Phase from Gansevoort to
20 th Street and second Phase 20 th Street to 30 th Street. This project has been successful in rejuvenating the entire west side of the
lower Manhattan.
